Construction FAQs

What are SIPs?

SIPs (structural insulated panels) are made by putting foam plastic between two skins of strand board – the result is a lightweight, eco-friendly material used in homes and light commercial buildings. They are among the most popular green construction supplies.

What are ReStores?

ReStores are stores operated by Habitat for Humanity which sell recycled construction supplies at a fraction of their cost. Their goal is to provide lower-income households with the means to perform home repairs.

What is masonry?

Masonry is the act of constructing with stone. In ancient times, people simply used mud and stone. Today, however, brick and cement is the most common form of masonry.
